The Western NSW Eye Health Partnership (WEHP), administered by RDN Health and funded by the Fred Hollows Foundation, recently came together for their quarterly meeting, with partners joining both face-to-face and online from across the region in Dubbo NSW.
The WEHP brings together Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs), Local Health Districts (LHDs), Primary Health Networks (PHNs), and non-government organisations (NGOs). This collaborative partnership aims to increase access to eye health services and improve vision and eye health outcomes for Aboriginal people across the Western NSW region.
The quarterly meeting provided an opportunity to connect, share progress and hear about the work happening across western NSW to improve access to culturally responsive eye health care for Aboriginal people.
From community engagement and health promotion, to strengthening eye health pathways and sharing eye health data across the region, the meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration and shared knowledge across the Partnership.
“Coming together as a Partnership allows us to share what’s happening across our communities, learn from each other and work together to make a difference in eye health for Aboriginal people across Western NSW,” said Regional Implementation Project Officer of WEHP Tori Towney following the event.
“Thank you to all our partners who continue to contribute their time, knowledge and expertise to the WEHP,” Tori said.
